cardiovascular diseases and stroke. This site contains general
information regarding the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and ways
to reduce your risk of developing heart disease and stroke.
The Cardiac
Arrhythmias Research and Education (C.A.R.E.) Foundation
The CARE Foundation was
founded in 1995 by a group of electrophysiologists and individuals
touched by the trauma of sudden cardiac death. Their mission is to
provide funding for medical research and to increase medical and public
awareness of the unexpected death of children and young adults due to
inherited heart rhythm disorders. This site contains information for
patients with long QT syndrome.
International Registry for Drug-Induced
Arrhythmias (QTDrugs.org)
This site contains information about drugs which should be
avoided if you have long QT syndrome. QTdrugs.org is devoted to
education and research on drug-induced arrhythmias, especially those
due to prolongation of the QT interval on the electrocardiogram (ECG).
Prolongation of the QT interval can result in the potentially lethal
arrhythmia, torsades de pointes.
